Meet Your Contact Person: Sarah Liebigt

Hello, I'm Sarah, born in 1985, a journalist and online editor here at HERO. In the IT world (as well as in many other areas), diversity is still not a given – we want to contribute to an improvement. In my early professional years, my colleagues were predominantly male and significantly older. And in 2009, diversity or non-binary identity was hardly a topic – neither in job applications nor in casual conversations. This professional environment was also challenging because I've always believed that a sense of equality and inclusion is a fundamental trait – one that every person should bring.

Therefore, I'm particularly pleased that we've been addressing these topics at HERO from the very beginning. Many of our S*HEROes work remotely, while others regularly work in our offices in Hanover or Berlin. Whether you're an early bird or a late riser, you can organise your working day flexibly. In 3 steps to your new mission

At HERO, all good things come in threes. The following steps are usually part of your application process. Depending on the position or department, these may sometimes be adjusted, but you will of course be informed of this in good time. To offer you the best possible applicant experience, "transparency", "appreciation" and "care" are the cornerstones of our recruitment process.

First meeting

We start with an initial interview with a member of our Talent Attraction team. In an informal atmosphere, we want to find out together whether HERO is the right employer for you and whether you are a good fit for us. The aim is to get to know you better as a person and at the same time answer all your questions.

Professional exchange

If you enjoyed the first meeting as much as we did, great! In the second meeting, we'll go into a little more depth. Here we want to look at your professional qualifications and previous experience and see to what extent they fit the role. Sometimes exercises, test tasks or coding challenges can be part of or preparation for the interview. In this case, we will let you know in good time so that you have enough time to prepare.

It is important to us that you get to know members of your future team. This gives you the opportunity to talk about everyday working life at HERO and make initial contacts. So take the opportunity to ask any questions you still have about the job or working environment.

FAQ

When can I expect to hear back from you?

Speed in the application process is one of our defined goals. You will receive confirmation of receipt on the same day. You will be informed as soon as possible whether you will be invited to an initial exchange. In times of an increased number of applicants, it may exceptionally take a little longer to get back to you. But we won't forget you in any case!


I have not received any feedback for some time. Why is that?

Nobody's perfect. Even with us, things can sometimes be delayed due to internal processes. We always strive to be quick and transparent in our communication with you. At times when we have a large number of vacancies, it may take a little longer to get back to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us again.


Is there a dress code for job interviews?

Definitely not - whether online or on site: Come as you are.


What can I do if I haven't found the right job for me on the careers page?

If you haven't found a suitable position on our careers page, don't worry! We regularly update our vacancies, and it could be that the perfect position for you becomes available soon. So feel free to send us your speculative application here. We're always on the lookout for talented people like you and would love to hear how you could enrich our team.


What happens to my data after an application?

Data protection is a very important issue for us. Your documents will be automatically deleted from our tool after 100 days at the latest. If you would like your documents to be deleted earlier, please contact us.


What is your policy regarding working from home/mobile working?

Basically, our motto is: remote first. However, as personal interaction is also very important to us, you should at least be willing to visit our office from time to time. How often this will be, varies from position to position and will be discussed again in the first meeting.


How does my onboarding at HERO work?

We would like to invite you to our office in Hanover for onboarding.

On your first day, you will learn more about HERO's exciting story and how you can take advantage of your benefits. We'll get you ready with your equipment and an introduction to the most important tools. You can also look forward to lunch together and a photo shoot in HERO merch.

In addition, your personal S*HERO buddy will create an individualized onboarding for you, which will start on day 2.

If you do not have the opportunity to be on site during your first few days, we will organize the onboarding remotely. Of course, we will make up for the photo shoot to immortalize you on our team page.
